Tubes Tied and Feeling Guilty

Do you have your tubes tied and feel guilty? Maybe you were in a relationship that was not going well and decided to have a ligation and now things have changed? This is a very common occurrence. And though a woman may feel alone in her guilt and depression over the choice she made she is not alone.

There are times in life where we make decisions about life and we wish we could go back and change them. We cannot change what has happened in the past but we can certainly plan the future differently.

Guilt over tubal ligation or having ones tubes tied can be changed. A procedure called tubal ligation reversal surgery will actually repair the fallopian tubes. Each month there is a chance for pregnancy to occur and this brings joy to many couples. Having fertility restored is something that many did not know could happen.

Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center has helped over 8000 couples have fertility restored. Many couples have gone onto have children. The majority of couples will have at least one child.

Known as the worlds leading center for tubal reversal the surgeons have a 98% repair rate and women not only have fertility restored they are able to rid themselves of Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. This is an added benefit to those who were looking to have just their fertility restored.

Tubal reversal is most natural way to have a child after tubal ligation. With surgery, those that have had their tubes tied feel whole again. The cost at the leading center is about $7000.00. For more information call 1-919-968-4656 or visit http://www.tubal-reversal.net/

Tubal Ligation and Side Effects

When couples choose to have the woman undergo a tubal ligation or have her tubes tied it is because they do not want any more children. Most often they feel that they have completed their family and do not want to have to worry about pregnancy.

After the tubal ligation there are some women who begin experiencing changes that are happening with their bodies. Most times they will just think it is their systems adjusting to the ligation and expect the symptoms to disappear or subside.

When the symptoms do not go away and new symptoms begin to appear they begin to wonder what is wrong. Little by little they begin to put things together and realize the symptoms are not only getting worse but they are now beginning to attribute it to the tubal ligations. Te more they begin to research the more women that they are finding that are experiencing the same things.

The scary thing is that when these women put a name to these symptoms they are finding out that many in the medical field do not accept that Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome is very real.

Women experience the following symptoms after a tubal ligation. Some have all of the symptoms listed here and many have more.

  • Depression
  • Fits of anger
  • PMS that is extreme
  • Panic attacks
  • Feelings of doom
  • Thinning hair
  • Skin problems
  • Very heavy and long periods
  • Weight gain that diet and exercise cannot control
  • Insomnia
  • Night sweats

This is just a partial list and women are seeking relief and want their lives back. So how have women been finding relief? The answer is through tubal ligation reversal. Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center has patients that seek the procedure not to restore fertility but to get relief from PTLS.

To the relief of many those that have the reversal note that relief is experienced almost immediately. Both Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith treat patients who suffer from PTLS. Although there is no guarantee that relief will be experienced right away, most women report drastic improvement over time.

For those seeking relief from tubal ligation side effects the nurses at CHTRC can be reached 24 hrs a day by calling 1-919-968-4656. The website also has a vast amount of easy to understand information.

IVF Not Always Easy

Amplify’d from www.bioedge.org

James said, “My experiences have opened my eyes to the unacknowledged devastation IVF can wreak. No one talks about how the pursuit of fertility can bring negative consequences: you are expected to set your eye on the goal and just keep going until you get there. And when it has worked for you, no one will countenance you talking about how long or difficult the process was. Every discussion tends to be rounded off by someone saying, ‘At least you’ve got your little boy,’ as if what you went through is cancelled out by the end result.” ~ Daily Mail, Oct 23

Tubal Reversal Surgery in the United States

Amplify’d from www.tubal-reversal.net

Dear Dr. Berger,

You carried out my reversal surgery over two years ago now and to be honest we gave up trying well over a year ago or more. I was just happy to have my periods back to normal! I only got my hpt positive today although I have suspected for a couple of weeks. Only time will tell if this is a healthy pregnancy and that it results in a healthy baby, but regardless of what the outcome is I am just so thankful for the opportunity to conceive. Wow what a miracle – I am finding this hard to believe. I can’t even begin to thank you. I just knew that flying half way round the world to you was the right thing to do!

Just wanted to drop in for a quick update. My husband and I just got back last night from our trip to Chapel Hill for our TR. We had a great time in Chapel Hill, the hotel was amazing, probably the best we've ever stayed at and we got the least expensive room! Our experience at the reversal center was absolutely top notch and the best medical experience I've ever had! All I can say is that the rave reviews we have all been reading on this message board are well deserved!

I'm still a bit sore this evening, but I think a lot of that has to do with hiking around three airports and a couple of long flights yesterday. Even with the soreness though, it's not as bad as the TL was in 2001, and I'll be weaning off the pain meds tomorrow.

I have good lengths, 5 cm on the left and 6.5 cm on the right, and Dr. Berger said they look nice and healthy so I guess only time will tell when it comes to conception! Whether we conceive again or not though, it's great just to feel whole again and have this behind us. It felt like it took forever for us to get to this point and now I'm just looking forward to being healed and getting on with business as usual.

I'm curious to see how the reversal will affect my cycles and PTLS symptoms. My first fertile time post reversal is coming up over the next several days and I don't think I'll be up to nookie, so I'm hoping to see at least a little bit of improvement. I'm not holding my breath, but with our history (we have been married 15 years and already have four kids together) and the regularity of my cycles I suspect I may not have a whole lot of cycles for comparison. We won't be stressing TTC but won't be preventing either, again I say, only time will tell!!

Whatever the future holds for us, we will be eternally grateful to Dr. Berger and all the staff at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center for their part in our journey to fix something we broke almost 10 years ago.

God Bless and good luck to all of you who are still waiting for your time in the OR, and plenty of baby dust to those of you TTCRead more at forums.tubal-reversal.net

Excitement Over Tubal Reversal Surgery

Along with the choice to have tubal reversal surgery comes a wide range of emotions.

I am so excited! My TR is scheduled for next month. My husband and I decided to get the TR because of my horrible PTLS. I can't wait to be back to my old self.

I am experiencing some odd emotions that I am wondering if anyone can relate to?

I had 2 children and got my tubes tied during my c-section. Only once since I had my tubes tied have I thought "maybe I will get it reversed and try for another" that day I went to visit a good friend's brand new baby in the hospital. Who doesn't long for another baby while sitting in the hospital rocker holding a new baby that has only been in the world for a few hours?!?!?!

I haven't longed for more children or regretted my decision to not have anymore....

UNTIL NOW!

I am almost obsessive over the idea of another (My husband says I'm acting like a Jack Russell Terrier.) My youngest is 3 and the baby stage in our house is just about gone and now with the option about to be back on the table I want to try. I feel so wishy-washy!

Is it ok for me to just accept that circumstances have changed and a change of plans happens?
